A visit is a session from a unique visitor within the calendar month. We estimate visits across 340M domains and refresh the index monthly. Data is usually published in the middle of the following month.
We combine clickstream panels, public measurement endpoints and our own crawl of 340M domains, then model monthly visit estimates from those signals. Estimates are most useful for relative comparison between sites.
The full index is recomputed every month. Every page tells you exactly which data month you are looking at, so numbers are always attributable.
